Come to Debbie Country!

Y'all! Remember when I crossed paths with Campbell Scott this fall? After Friday, it now seems I'm collecting sightings of cast members from one of my favorite Cameron Crowe movies!*
Friday night in Montauk** I noticed the woman at the table next to us had familiar-looking eyebrows. Seriously - I noticed her eyebrows. I told the Pinball Champ (who came out to the share house for a couple of nights and yes, I'm still on the fence about him and I know I'm an idiot because he's really great and he likes me a lot for some reason but I'm just not really feeling it or at least the being-a-girlfriend part of it so obviously I'm in need of therapy or some shit because he is so smart and nice and funny and I obviously want to die alone with the eventual four dogs I'll own and treat like my children but that's another story) that I thought she was an actress, but he didn't recognize her. Almost immediately the movie Singles popped into my head, but I couldn't place her. Not Bridget Fonda, not Kyra Sedgwick, not the girl who does the video dating... except that it was, just 15 years later, with long dark hair instead of short, blond and wavy. Dude - it was Debbie Hunt!
And she looked freaking AMAZING.

Apparently, this is what she's doing now:

(By the way, I found this pic on Google images when I was looking for a pic of Debbie Hunt. That Matt Dillon Citizen Dick costume totally rocks!!)

The funny part, though, was while I was sitting at the table trying to figure out who she was, Pinball Champ looks over my shoulder at their table and says, "Oh, it would make sense if she was an actress, because that guy was on the West Wing." Um, WHO?? I had to be cool and eventually found an excuse to turn around and check out TOBY!
Who knew Toby was married? They had a very cute daughter whose birthday they were celebrating. All very exciting. Oh, and we saw them at Harvest, which is the best meal I've had in MTK so far.

*Although to be fair, Almost Famous is probably tied for first. I adored that movie. Except shit! I forgot about Say Anything, which is also tied for 1st. I didn't realize how much I love Cameron Crowe. So, three-way tie! And don't tell, but I liked Jerry Maguire, too. Even if Tom Cruise is a loony.

**The Guy I dated for about two seconds last fall who pretends along with me that we're IM friends told me last week "it irritates the shit out of people from long island to hear about celebrities and tourists going to the hamptons and montauk." Really? How sad for them.

god! you see so many celebrities up there! down here, it's just britt daniel, britt daniel, and britt daniel, and always at restaurants. (i never see the gwyneths and the julias and what have you, probably because i don't live at whole foods or do yoga 17 hours a day.)

you don't know me from adam (or eve, for that matter), but if you're on the fence about pinball champ, why don't you stop torturing yourself and just pull the trigger? at the very least, you'd be available when mr. really right shows up.

Wow, Debbie Hunt is still really attractive. And I'm glad that you mentioned that she was in Singles. Otherwise, I never would've been able to place her face.

That's cool that you saw actress Sheila Kelley. I remember her from her days on L.A. Law. She also appeared on the last season of another show I watched quite a bit (Sisters). I remember when she came out with the S Factor workout. I've always thought she was hot as hell. Toby is one lucky bastard!
