I've spent the entire morning of my day off for this pretend holiday watching Season 1 of Friday Night Lights. So far I've been moved to crying big baby tears approximately 5.8 times, and I'm only on Disc 1.
I saw this season's premiere this weekend, and I have to say, I'm newly in love again. Y'all - WATCH THIS SHOW! Here are some reasons why: it's filmed in Austin and Central Texas, for crying out loud; they used the Broken Spoke - the "last of the true Texas dance halls" as a location - AWES. Connie Britton is SO FREAKING GOOD, and Kyle Chandler is adorable. Adorable adorable adorable - even more than he was on Homefront when I first developed this crush in high school.

Speaking of celebrity sightings AND Friday Night Lights (see how I tied it all together there?), I saw Connie Britton strolling down the street in SoCo this weekend. She's goregous in real life and very freckley. This was less than half an hour after my earlier Jason Schwartzman sighting outside of Jo's coffee. Austin really is the new NYC!
