Score!

Last night was my first foray into the use of heavy narcotics. Yep, I've finally succumbed to the seedy side of NYC: I took a muscle relaxer the Columbia Student Health Center doctor prescribed for a weird twinge in my back that's been hurting for a few weeks. The result? I slept for 12 hours. No joke - from midnight last night to noon today. So much for my future in pill-popping. I've never been so relaxed in my life! It was a beautiful thing. Obviously not something to try if I'm working the next day.

So, what the hell have I been doing for the last two and a half weeks? Eating and drinking and socializing with my peeps in Texas, and basically doing as little as possible. Here are some random pictures to catch you up:

Yes, that is a free (with purchase!) Strand tote bag you see. I thought it'd be great for some of the knitting paraphernalia that my sister has accumulated. Apparently one of the terrierists had different ideas.

My Sister and the Hoke. Both training for America's Next Top Model.

This is my Brother-in-Law at the College Station HEB.
Apparently Starbuck's Frappuccino qualifies as "New Age" in Aggieland.

Awww, Bink wants to take a trip!
Or maybe she was just cold and looking for a place to warm up?

Our very exciting New Year's Eve plans involved hanging out with David and Ms.Lutty and lighting sparklers that are still left over from my sister's wedding four years ago.
Dave said the bathrobe was part of his Hugh Hefner look. Check out those moves!

Can you believe this woman just turned 78?? Doesn't she look amazing?
Okay, maybe it wasn't 78. Something around there, though.

It's gorgeous outside today. Like 60-degrees-in-New York-and-it's-January gorgeous! I'm always happy to be in Austin, or Bryan, or driving between the two, but after almost three weeks in Texas, I didn't realize how ready I was to get home. And home for me right now is this crappy apartment in NYC. Home Sweet Harlem!
