Well-Deserved

Well, missing my flight to Austin this morning by mere minutes was not really an auspicious way to kick off my trip. Events conspired against me, and by events I mean all of my worst qualities - procrastination, over-confidence, turtle-like speed, and sheer idiocy. Today of all days I decide not to "waste" money on a cab, confident that I'll make it. Every single thing I did took too long - the subway to Penn, train delay on the way to Jamaica Station, slow AirTrain, and then an interminable security line that I could not bring myself to cut. I even had to wait extra long for a stupid shuttle to the JetBlue terminal where I was stuck behind an elderly lady on a walker all the way to the gate.
I got there with five minutes to spare before the flight took off, but guess what? They had closed the door and left the gate, so although I could wave at the plane through the window, I was S.O.L. Wah. At least there's free wi-fi.

So, no cheese enchiladas for lunch today. At least I can look forward to happy hour upon arrival. And then lots of family fun for the next week.

And you? How've you been?

Hi, I'm fine. If you're looking to kill time, could you post a list of "good" Mexican restaurants in NYC? I'd trust a Texan.

Also, am planning a dinner at Pisticci. You in?

Some days are just slow. But there's always a next plane, right? Hope you have a great time back home : )

So far so good! I got floor seats to see The Eagles next month! I have front row tickets to see Leslie Jordan, short gay man who flew out the window on the last episode of Will and Grace, in October. I am waiting on a phone call for an interview for an amazing job I have been wanting for a long time, which might accidentally keep me in Texas longer then I wish! lol

Ah....back in Austin. You are making me homesick. You must make the obligatory late night/early morning run to Mrs. Johnson's Donuts on Airport...mmmm amazing glazed donuts still warm and dripping - the best thing apres a night down on sixth street. (Not that you would be out late night carousing or anything...)
